Nate VS Rachel | Fundraising Event for The Ice Treatment
To achieve the production goals of Actors Bridge Ensemble's (ABE) world premiere of Nate Eppler's The Ice Treatment extra funds needed to be generated by a separate fundraising event. To help learn their audience I agreed to put together a social design for the special event. I was given a title for the event and a general idea of what it was. Together we developed a FAQ about the event to not only example the event to ABE's followers, but also explain the special relationship ABE has with Nate Eppler and Rachel Agee. I called a photoshoot with Nate and Rachel (taking the photos myself) so I could break this FAQ into a series of meme style social posts. Keeping our ticketing sales in mind I released posts marking 50%, 75%, 90% capacity to help drive up the urgency of buying tickets. With 48 hours to spare the event sold out. As a reward for selling out we released a Facebook Live video during the event and used this excitement to drive ticket sales to The Ice Treatment production. "Don't get stuck again without a ticket. Buy your tickets now to The Ice Treatment."
Nashville Repertory Theatre
In 2011 I started working at Nashville Repertory Theatre as their Visual and Digital Communications Manager. One of my main tasks was to build a social media strategy from the ground up. In the past five years I added profiles for Nashville Rep on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Pinterest, Google +, YouTube, Flickr, Instagram, Periscope, and a newly launched SnapChat account for their 2016-2017 season. My goal was to extend Nashville Repertory Theatre's stage into the digital world, developing platform specific content to keep information fresh no matter what platform you followed.
My design for The Rep's social programming quickly gained national followers and was adapted by theatres and other arts organizations. In 2013 I was asked to present a social media workshop at the National Arts Marketing Summit in San Francisco, CA. The workshop has had the highest attendance in the summit's history. Since then I have offered two free classes, filled to capacity, in Nashville for local non-profits.
2015-2016 Season | Pre Season Artwork
Due to Facebook's guidelines with text on images (20% rule) Nashville Repertory Theatre faced a unique challenge when promoting their 2015-2016 season. In the summer I will meet with the Producing Artistic Director and Production team to develop the art direction for the official season images. Because Nashville Rep announces their season in a short amount of time after the shows are picked and before the actors are cast, I would have to find a temporary fix for the artwork that didn't evolve using just text because of Facebook's guidelines. Gathered a bunch of props, I ended up making these modern collages that I photographed and used to promote the new season.
